 Biography

Charine Chan Ka-ling was born in Hong Kong in 1967, the younger sister of actor and singer Amy Chan. She was discovered by Raymong Wong Pak-ming to join the cast of the Cinema City comedy Happy Ghost II (1985). She went on to star in a series of youth comedies, including The Isle of Fantasy (1985), Happy Ghost 3 (1986) and Trouble Couples (1987). In addition to acting, she also formed an all girls singing group with Fennie Yuen, May Lo, Bonnie Law, Loletta Lee and Ann Bridgewater.

After leaving Cinema City, she went on to appear in over 20 films, such as Woman Prison (1988), Erotic Ghost Story II (1991) and Sisters in Law (1992). In the early 1990s, she joined Regal Films Co. to work behind the scenes, and produced Tragic Fantasy–Tiger of Wanchai (1994), Oh! My Three Guys… (1994) and The World of Treasure (1995). Using the name of Charlie, she produced and directed Remember M. Remember E. (1995). Chan withdrew from the entertainment world in 1996, and concentrated on investments and business opportunities in Mainland China and Asia.
