 Biography

Frank Kwok Yuk-kei was born in Hong Kong in 1952. In the late 1970s, he worked as production assistant at Rediffusion Television. He moved up to director in 1979, directing such classic series as Chameleon II (1979), Tai Chi Master (1980) and Blowing in the Wind (1980).

Leaving Rediffusion to switch to film in the early 1980s, Kwok directed The Young Heroes of the Street, starring Jeem Yim, Candy Man and Tai Liang-shun. The film did not perform well at theaters and he returned to Rediffusion (later renamed ATV) and became a producer in 1984, responsible for such renowned dramas as The Undercover Agents (1984).
