Lo Po-shan started working continuity for Golden Harvest in 1978, and rose to the position of assistant director by 1984. He worked in numerous films for the studio including Long Arm of the Law (1984), Police Story Part II (1988), Mr. Canton and Lady Rose (1989), Once Upon a Time in China (1991), Police Story III Super Cop (1992), The Twin Dragons (1992) and Fong Sai Yuk (1993), among others. Lo worked for other independent film companies after 1993, and was involved in many different types of films. In 1999, he co-directed the action film The Golden Nightmare with martial arts coordinator John Chui Jong-shinn, and followed up with two low-budget thrillers. Lo left the film industry in 2006.
