Wong Kam-tin was senior director at TVB between 1983 and 1989, holding the same post at ATV between 1991 and 2001. He was responsible for many renowned television series, such as Fist of Fury (ATV, starring Donnie Yen), The Ten Tigers of Guangdong (ATV, starring Donnie Yen) and King of Gamblers (ATV, starring Damian Lau Chung-yan, Patrick Tse Yin and Cecilia Yip Tung). From 2001 to 2003, he worked in China, responsible for such series as The Young Detective II (2001).
Wong had a parallel film career beside his television work. He began directing features with the drama Dirty Girl (1988), starring Derek Yee Tung-sing and Yu Chi-wai. Then, in 1993 and 1994, he directed three films about sensational urban crimes, Maniacal Beauty on the Loose (1993), Portrait of a Serial Rapist (1994) and The Most Wanted (1994), the last two starring Danny Lee and produced by Lee’s company Magnum Films. Wong had also directed the crime thrillers The Most Wanted (1994), starring Sean Lau Ching-wan and Ken Cheng, and The Enemy (2001), starring Adia Chan Chung-ling, Sunny Chan Kam-hung and Josie Ho Chiu-yee.
