葉偉民 | YIP Wai Man Raymond
 Introduction

Honestly speaking, having worked in the industry for a number of years, I am thankful for the opportunity to incorporate my interest into my profession and express what I want to say on the big screen, whether in Hong Kong or Mainland productions. In my mind, there is no distinction between a Hong Kong film and a Mainland one. All films are about human beings, and where there is opportunity, there is hope.

 Biography

Raymond Yip Wai-man was born in Hong Kong in 1966 and started in film as a continuity person. Between 1989 and 1999, he worked as assistant director on almost 30 films, including Royal Tramp (1992), Truant Heroes (1992), God of Gamblers Return (1994), The Storm Riders (1998) and A Man Called Hero (999).

Yip directed his first film for Wong Jing’s Workshop in 1996. Sixty Million Dollar Man, starring Stephen Chow, Ng Mang-tat and GiGi Leung, grossed over HK$35 million. His 1998 work Portland Street Blues garnered the Best Actress award for Sandra Ng and Best Supporting Actress Award for Shu Qi. In recent years, Yip had been working chiefly in Mainland China, where he completed Lost on Journey (2010), Blood Stained Shoes (2012), A Happy Chinese New Year (2012) and Bump In The Road (2013).
