Yuen Chun-man joined the film industry in the early 1980s, working at companies like Shaw Brothers, Golden Harvest, D & B and Cinema City, first as assistant director and continuity person, later as scriptwriter and in stunt driving crews.
In 1991, Yuen and cinematographer Cheng Siu-keung co-directed Forbidden Arsenal, the sixth chapter of the police actioner series In the Line of Duty. He then directed and scripted the thriller Bullet for Hire (1991) and the action comedy Night Life Hero (1992).
He also worked as producer, on Once Upon a Time in China III (1993) and Once Upon a Time in China IV (1993) for Tsui Hark’s Film Workshop, followed by serving as executive producer for Magnum Films on Fearless Match (1994), Twist (1995), The Case of the Cold Fish (1995) and Asian Connection (1995). After directing Mr. Mumble (1996), based on the Japanese manga series City Hunter, Yuen left the film industry.
